Kupwara, 09 May 2026:
A Free Cancer Detection and Medical Camp was organised at Galzoo Ground by Quality Healthcare Hospital in collaboration with the Indian Army and Civil Administration Kupwara for the welfare of patients.
The main objective of the camp was to screen and diagnose cancer patients through a team of experienced oncologists led by Col (Dr) Ashok Kumar. The initiative provided cancer patients with proper diagnosis, expert consultation, and medical guidance, benefiting a large number of people.
More than 50 cancer patients visited the camp among over 400 patients who availed medical services during the event. Around 10 specialist doctors from various disciplines, including Gastroenterology, Ophthalmology, Orthopaedics, Paediatrics, General Medicine, Audiometry, and Gynaecology, provided consultations and treatment. Free medical testing facilities and free medicines were also provided to the patients.
The camp was also attended by Deputy Commissioner Kupwara Shrikant Balasaheb Suse, who encouraged people to take maximum benefit from such healthcare initiatives and work towards the vision of a “Nasha Mukht and Rog Mukht Bharat.”
Additionally, awareness lectures on menstrual hygiene and personal cleanliness were conducted for girl students and madrasa students.
The overwhelming public response and participation reflected the strong bond of trust between the Awam and the Security Forces, while reinforcing the collective vision for a healthier and stronger Kupwara.
