KISHTWAR POLICE ARRESTS BURGLAR AND RECOVERED STOLEN PROPERTY

Kishtwar, May 17, 2025:

In a significant breakthrough, Kishtwar Police has successfully solved a burglary case involving theft of CCTV equipment from a residence in Kishtwar town. The accused has been arrested and the stolen items have been recovered.

*SSP Kishtwar, Sh. Naresh Singh-JKPS,* while divulging the details stated that Police Station Kishtwar had received a written complaint on 14/05/2025 from one Mohd Zubair Doolwal S/o Gh. Nabi Doolwal R/o Ward No. 07, Kishtwar, alleging that an unknown individual had broken into his house, damaged the door locks and glass panels, and stolen a DVR and CCTV cameras.

Acting swiftly, a case FIR No. 108/2025 U/S 305/331(4) BNS was registered at Police Station Kishtwar. A special investigation team was constituted led by Dy. SP Hqrs. Kishtwar Dr. Ishan Gupta-JKPS assisted by SHO PS Kishtwar and IC PP Hidyal under the supervision of Addl. SP Kishtwar Sh. Pardeep Singh-JKPS, to probe the matter.

Using a combination of technical surveillance, CCTV footage analysis, and on-ground intelligence, the investigation team identified and arrested the accused, Mohd Zunaid Lone S/o Mohd Shahban Lone R/o Dared Peth, Kishtwar, within  24 hours. The stolen property, including the DVR and CCTV cameras and others items was recovered from his possession.
